A practically destroyed 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am was discovered in the American state of Illinois. Strangely enough, this wreck holds significant value because this car was once used by the legendary Hollywood actor Steve McQueen.
Steve McQueen drove this Pontiac Firebird in the movie “The Hunter.” It is the last film featuring the actor, as in 1980 he died from cancer. Although the Pontiac is not as famous as McQueen’s Ford Mustang Bullitt, it is still valuable.
The car’s deplorable condition is due to it being blown up.
According to the script, the car was destroyed in a spectacular crash. Incidentally, two Pontiac Firebirds were blown up during filming.
Initially, the remnants of the car were to be scrapped, but a farmer who helped with the filming decided to save the muscle car and hid it in a barn for 40 years. Now, there is a possibility of its restoration.
