by There have been major changes in the car registration system in Ukraine. From now on, the procedure for deregistering a vehicle has been canceled.
The relevant decree on amending the Procedure for state registration (re-registration), deregistration of cars, buses, as well as self-propelled vehicles constructed on car chassis, motorcycles of all types, brands and models, trailers, semi-trailers, motorized carriages, other vehicles equated to them and mopeds was adopted by the Cabinet on August 22.
Now, vehicles during sale (or any other alienation) will be immediately re-registered to the new owner. By the way, the list of documents confirming the legality of purchasing a car has been supplemented with a sales contract based on auction or electronic trade results.
In addition, the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs launched a new online service for the first registration of a car. It allows tracking the change of owners and car numbers, its re-equipment, and other changes. All information is publicly accessible.
The service applies to vehicles registered after 2013. New cars are added to the database after registration at the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
