For the 2026 model year, Toyota has introduced a special version of the Corolla Hatchback called the FX Edition, which is available on the American market. This modification pays tribute to the 1987 Corolla FX16 model, receiving minor exterior and interior updates, while remaining on the same platform and with the same engine as the standard version. Although the car looks more sporty, its technical specifications remain unchanged.
Externally, the FX Edition features new 18-inch alloy wheels with a glossy white finish, inspired by the design of the Nightshade trim. Additionally, the car has received a black rear spoiler and a retro Corolla emblem on the tailgate, giving it a more expressive character.
The FX Edition’s design is executed in a more refined style than the GR Corolla and is offered in three color options: Ice Cap (white), Inferno (orange), and Blue Crush Metallic (blue).
The car’s interior is done in a sporty style with black upholstery and orange stitching on the dashboard, door panels, gear lever, and seats. The Sport Touring seats feature enhanced lateral support, integrated headrests, and Alcantara inserts for better grip.
The Corolla Hatchback FX is based on the base SE trim, so it is equipped with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch multimedia system screen. Standard equipment includes wireless charging and the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 safety system.
Unlike the FX sedan, which received a lowered suspension and sportier steering tuning, the hatchback retained the standard chassis. Under the hood remains the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 169 horsepower with 151 lb-ft of torque, paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive.
The launch of the 2026 Toyota Corolla Hatchback FX will begin in the fall with a limited series of 1,600 units. The price will be announced closer to the start of sales, but for reference, the base 2025 Corolla Hatchback SE starts at $23,780.
