As local media reports, “Car owners in the regions annexed to Russia following the referendums will receive plates with Russian region codes.” According to the Russian Interior Ministry’s project, the so-called DPR will receive code 80, LPR – 81, Kherson region – 84, and Zaporizhzhia region – 85. The document also states that territories outside of Russia (presumably referring to the Kuril Islands) served by Russian internal affairs will receive digital codes 88 and 94.
The explanatory note to the criminal order states that its development is due to the need to exclude the list of digital codes used on registration plates for identifying vehicles in the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR.

Let’s recall, early October in Ukraine was marked by the advance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by tens of kilometers in the Kherson and Donetsk directions. Fortified areas of the Russian Armed Forces were liberated in Lyman and Davidiv Brid, as well as more than 10 settlements.
