Rare Ferrari F40 for Sale on Craigslist for $5 Million
The 1990 Ferrari F40 is one of only 213 models specifically adapted for the US market. The car has a clean history, no accidents, and the mileage is only 7,430 miles. What is unusual is that such a collector’s item appeared on Craigslist, a platform where ordinary cars are usually sold.
The seller is Icon Servicing, acting on behalf of the federal court. As stated in the ad:
“I am the official broker appointed by the court to sell this vehicle.”
The reason for the sale is likely the bankruptcy of the former owner.
Auction Details
The auction will take place on August 12th at the federal court in Santa Barbara. The starting price is $2.555 million, but the seller is also considering offers up to $5 million for an early deal closure. Experts estimate the market value of such a car in good condition to be around $2.45–3.55 million.
This case shows how exclusive collector cars can become part of legal proceedings. The Ferrari F40 remains the dream of many collectors, and its appearance on a public platform like Craigslist generates significant interest.
