Rare Low-Mileage Dodge Challenger Sold at Auction
Another example of the limited-edition Dodge Challenger from the Last Call lineup has appeared at auction. This car, equipped with a manual transmission and a Hemi 392 engine, was sold for $60,500. It is one of 220 special Mopar ’23 editions based on the R/T Scat Pack Widebody model.
This Challenger has a mileage of only 740 miles (1190 km), which is very low for a two-year-old car. However, this is more than some other similar models that were previously put up for sale. The car is finished in Pitch Black with matte black stripes and Mopar blue accents, which are also present on the Brembo brake calipers.
Did anyone who bought a Last Call muscle car actually, you know, drive it? We only ask because not a week seems to go by without another incredibly low mileage example appearing on an auction platform – and selling for less money than the owners probably expected to realize when they decided to buy and mothball them.
Car Details and Auction Results
The car’s interior is adorned with carbon fiber elements and a special badge on the dashboard. Despite the rarity of the Mopar ’23 trim and the presence of a manual transmission, the final sale price turned out to be $9,095 lower than the original price of a new car. For comparison, another similar Challenger with only 250 miles on it failed to meet the reserve price of $48,750.
Today’s market provides a unique opportunity to purchase almost new Dodges at a lower price. This may be beneficial for buyers, but it hardly met the expectations of those who bought these cars as an investment. For the same amount, one could consider other new powerful models, for example, the Dark Horse, which costs only $5,000 more.
The popularity of limited-edition Dodges among collectors remains high, but recent auctions show that the market value of these cars does not always meet sellers’ expectations. Perhaps this is due to the increased supply of such models after Stellantis ended their production.
