American electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian has announced a recall of 28 thousand R1T and R1S model vehicles due to problems with the front turn signals. It was discovered that they may not light up or function properly, posing a potential danger on the road. The company has not recorded any accidents or injuries related to this malfunction so far.
The problem arose due to components manufactured by Myotek in Michigan. If a turn signal fails, the driver receives a warning on the instrument panel, and the remaining signals start flashing twice as fast. Rivian has already discontinued the use of these parts as of May 13, 2025.
Recall Details
This recall affects electric vehicles manufactured from April 2024 to May 2025. Owners will receive a notification about the need for an inspection starting July 25, and dealers will replace the faulty turn signals free of charge. Although the problem is not critical, it can create inconveniences for both Rivian drivers and other road users.
This is not the first recall for Rivian, but the company is responding promptly to the identified shortcomings. Such incidents highlight the importance of component quality, especially when it comes to road safety. The manufacturer continues to improve its models to avoid similar situations in the future.
