Judging by the statistics of new car registrations, Ukrainians either cannot or do not want to buy new cars. Thus, in January, their sales fell to a record low of 5.2 thousand units, which is 21% worse than last year’s figures for the same period of time. 
At the same time, according to the statistics of the association “Ukrautoprom”, the number of primary registrations of used cars increased to an incredible 75%. Of course, this is related to euro-license plates and their legalization on preferential terms. February may be even more “fun”, as the deadline for special customs clearance conditions expires at the end of the month.
Speaking of the most popular new cars in Ukraine, the January ranking was as follows:
- Renault (804 cars, +37%)
- Toyota (632 cars, -30%)
- Nissan (427, -4%)
- KIA (390, +25%)
- Skoda (341, -22%)
- Hyundai (336, +27%)
- Volkswagen (273, -53%)
- Mazda (215, -33%)
- Mitsubishi (177, -23%)
- Audi – (175, -39%).
The best-selling car of January 2019 is the Renault Duster (329 registrations).
