In Baku, a very unusual homemade car has been put up for sale. The price of the rear-engine roadster is impressive – 105 thousand dollars.
No, it’s not about some supercar from a folk craftsman. The car was built on the units of an old Zaporozhets back in 1978 by master E. Tairov from Sumgait.
The car is based on an X-shaped frame, and the body panels are made of fiberglass. The rear-mounted engine from ZAZ-966 develops 30 hp. The Zaporozhets also borrowed the suspension, and the familiar round ZAZ lights draw attention.
At the same time, the windshield is taken from a Moskvich-407, and the headlights and radiator grille are from a Moskvich-412. Wheels and tires are from a Zhiguli.
Of course, by the standards of the USSR of the 70s, the ZAZ convertible is interesting. However, the price of the car is sky-high, especially considering that a more advanced sports car based on ZAZ in the style of Lamborghini was created in Ukraine.
