Perhaps you have never even heard of a company like Chameleon Car Co. In the 70s and 80s, this English office was engaged in converting serial Mercedes cars into something very unusual and extravagant. 
In those years, the British offered customers a mega-luxurious version of the Mercedes-Benz 500SEL, which they called the 1000SEL. That is, it’s not even the six hundredth, but the thousandth! 
It is also worth mentioning the Mercedes-Benz 500SEC, based on which the British made a very extravagant coupe for connoisseurs called the Chameleon Typhoon.
According to unofficial data, only a few Typhoons were produced, and all of them were sold to Arab countries. 
And then there’s the Tornado, based on the W126 sedan. Glamorous horror!
