by In the first two months of this year, the number of car thefts has slightly decreased. This information was provided by the press service of the National Police of Ukraine in response to a request from UNN. 
The most popular cars among thieves have also been named. In 2019, VAZ (62 units), Toyota (53), and Daewoo (39) were stolen the most. Additionally, 23 Mercedes-Benz and Honda cars each and 20 BMWs were stolen.
The National Police assert that thefts of expensive premium-class cars have increased. Meanwhile, VAZ and Daewoo are now mostly stolen by young people for joyriding, although previously auto thieves would typically dismantle them for parts.
