In 2018, Ukrainians bought 5.3 thousand electric cars, almost 2 times more than the previous year. This statistic is provided by the Ukravtoprom Association. 
As before, the structure of the primary electric car market is dominated by used cars, accounting for 83.5%. However, the growth in demand for new electric cars was higher than for used ones. While primary registrations of used electric cars doubled, for new ones this figure was 2.2 times.
The most popular electric car in Ukraine remains the Nissan Leaf, which occupied 64% of the market. Over the year, 3378 cars of this model were registered, of which 94% were used. The second place was taken by the BMW i3 – 352 cars, of which 69% were used. The third place went to Tesla Model S – 259 units (64% used). In fourth place was the Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive – 168 units (76% used cars).
Rounding out the top five is the Renault Zoe – 142 units (84% used).
