Usually, tuning a Toyota Land Cruiser involves preparing the vehicle for tough off-road conditions. However, there are exceptions – like this Toyota hot rod from Allers Rods and Custom.
The project was completed in 2014 and in 5 years the car has already covered 100,000 km. The base was a 1975 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 pickup.
The car was lowered, the roof pillars were cut by 200 mm, and huge wheels were installed.
In general, everything follows the hot-rodding canons. The Land Cruiser also features a completely new rear section.
Under the hood hides a 4.0-liter V8 Toyota 1UZ from a Lexus GS, paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. After modifications, it produces 300 hp and accelerates the SUV to 206 km/h. A quarter-mile run is completed in 15.1 seconds.
The side exhaust looks original.
Particular attention was paid to the chassis – essentially it was created from scratch. The suspension is adjustable, with shock absorbers from a Land Rover Discovery, and its rear axle was also taken. Huge BFGoodrich tires sized 305/60 R18 are installed.
The owner of the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 actively uses it and travels a lot.
By the way, his motorhome is very similar to the Ukrainian Lifestylecamper.
