The hypercar SSC Tuatara was seriously damaged in an accident in the USA. The car was damaged by chance and wasn’t even driving under its own power. By the way, this is the very car that broke the world speed record.
The fact is, the SSC Tuatara was being transported on a car carrier to Florida to participate in a car show, and due to strong winds, the truck overturned. One of the drivers was injured in the accident, and the American hypercar got significantly crumpled.
However, SSC reported that the Tuatara can be restored in a few weeks, and very soon the car will try to break its own speed record again. Let’s recall that in January, SSC Tuatara achieved an average speed of 455.3 km/h over two runs and became the fastest production car in the world.
In fact, the hypercar had previously reached even 532.9 km/h, but that achievement was not recognized. However, the Americans are not giving up and still want to confirm the title of the first production car capable of exceeding 500 km/h.
