In the USA, at the Mecum auction, a 1965 Ford Mustang was sold for $3.85 million. This is a record price for a Mustang; even the legendary hero of the movie Bullitt turned out to be cheaper.
Of course, it wasn’t a regular Ford Mustang that was hammered, but a racing Shelby GT350R. Only 34 of these cars were produced, and this particular car was the second in the series.
Moreover, it was this very car driven by Ken Miles himself – Christian Bale’s character in the film “Ford v Ferrari.” Also behind the wheel competed equally famous racers Bob Bondurant and Peter Brock.
The Shelby GT350R is equipped with a 4.7-liter V8 engine with a power output of 350 hp. It accelerates to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds, and its top speed exceeds 200 km/h.
