We have repeatedly written about the strange and whimsical Japanese tuning. Especially successful in the unconventional modification of cars is the company Mitsuoka. However, there was also its lesser-known competitor Denag, which specialized in tuning Mercedes-Benz.
The most famous creation of the Japanese company is Denag Lorelei, which is based on the Mercedes W124. Although the German sedan is not immediately recognizable in this car, as most body panels are new.
The tuning of Mercedes 124 was done in the style of cars from the 40s-50s. It has widened fenders, round headlights, and a grille shaped like a beak, reminiscent of Alfa Romeo’s style. At the back, there are fins in an American style.
The technical components remained unchanged – a three-liter 180-horsepower six-cylinder engine allows it to reach 230 km/h. Nevertheless, the price of the tuned Mercedes 124 was off the charts – $350,000.
