A rare Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR supercar is up for auction at RM Sotheby’s in the USA. The declared price of the Mercedes is impressive – $4.25-5.25 million, which is almost like two Bugatti Chirons.
The Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR was produced in a quantity of only 35 units specifically for admission to the World Championship in the Gran Turismo class. As you can probably guess, the car has little in common with the standard Mercedes-Benz CLK coupe. It is mid-engined, and its body is made of carbon.
The Mercedes supercar is equipped with a 6.9-liter V12 engine from AMG producing 612 hp. With a 6-speed automated manual transmission, it accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and develops 344 km/h.
The car up for auction is the ninth in the series, and its mileage is only 1500 km. The Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR is equipped with air conditioning and a luxurious leather and Alcantara interior.
By the way, the racing Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR won the World Championship in 1998, and a year later during the 24-hour race at Le Mans, it became famous for a spectacular flight over the track.
