At first glance, it may seem that this is not a car and that it is not real at all. But no – it really exists and is even capable of moving. Perhaps the strangest car in the history of the automotive industry was built 5 years ago. The main ideologist and author was designer Joey Ruiter.

The car was named Consumer and is based on the 1993 Ford Festiva platform with a 1.3-liter gasoline engine. As for the body, it is virtually handmade from a plant material called Xorel, making the car ultralight – less than 600 kg.

Despite the fact that the unusual car has a steering wheel, headlights, mirrors, and seat belts, to drive it on public roads, it most likely needs to be registered as a homemade vehicle. Currently, Consumer is listed on the Cars & Bids auction with a starting price of $9,000. Previously, it was displayed in the Petersen Automotive Museum.
