by The Security Service found the assets of the President of JSC “Motor Sich” worth hundreds of millions of hryvnias. This property was attempted to be secretly exported from Ukraine to avoid its arrest within a criminal proceeding. Among the seized items were rare cars and firearms, as well as Scythian gold and items from ancient times and Kyivan Rus.
As a result of investigative and operational actions, participants of the scheme were identified. They turned out to be several heads of structural units of the plant. They were the ones trying to hide their leader’s property in areas controlled by commercial structures. In the future, the officials planned to illegally take the “assets” out of our country, reports the SBU.
However, counter-intelligence officers and SBU investigators worked proactively, promptly locating these caches and their organizers.
During the searches, law enforcement officers discovered and seized:
- 7 elite cars, including 4 rare ones;
- a boat;
- 3 hunting rifles and a rifle;
- a large number of antiquities of European peoples.
All the property has been sent for expert examination. Measures are underway to impose an arrest on it.
It should be recalled that counterintelligence and SBU investigators detained the President of JSC “Motor Sich” and the head of one of the enterprise’s Departments in October of this year. According to the investigation, the plant’s management in Zaporizhzhia established transnational channels for the illegal supply of wholesale batches of Ukrainian aircraft engines to the Russian Federation.
It should be noted that last year Ukraine transferred exclusive supercars to Germany, which were seized in 2020 due to large-scale fraud by their owner.
