by American company Shelby American has introduced a new high-performance coupe based on the Ford Mustang Dark Horse — the model is named Shelby Super Snake-R, reports Carscoops citing the manufacturer.
Unlike the standard Snake, which was announced earlier, the Super Snake-R received a significant power increase — from 500 to 850 hp. This was made possible by installing an additional supercharger on the 5.0-liter Ford Coyote engine.
The coupe can be ordered with either a six-speed manual transmission or a 10-speed automatic. The drive remains rear-wheel drive.
In terms of design, the Shelby Super Snake-R received new carbon front fenders, hood vents, a front splitter, a rear diffuser, and a massive rear wing. The sports car was also equipped with new 20-inch forged magnesium wheels.
The interior is executed in the signature Shelby style: sporty leather seats with Alcantara inserts, a special gear shift selector, and a nameplate with the model name.
The price for the Shelby Super Snake-R starts from $225,995, making it more expensive than one of its main competitors — the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X ($207,395).
