Bright Yellow Sports Cars from Toyota and Subaru
The Japanese sports car market has been enriched by two limited series from Toyota and Subaru. Both models, the Toyota GR86 RZ Yellow Limited and the Subaru BRZ STI Sport Yellow Edition, are finished in a bright yellow color with corresponding interior details. Although they share many common features, Toyota offers additional technical enhancements.
Toyota GR86 Features
The Japanese version of the Toyota GR86 RZ Yellow Limited resembles the American Yuzu Special Edition, but without the additional aerodynamic body kit. The car is painted in a Sunrise Yellow shade, which first appeared on the Toyota 86 GT Yellow Limited model in 2015. The wheel rims are finished in a dark gray metallic color. Among the technical updates are upgraded Brembo braking systems with ventilated discs and red calipers, as well as a sports suspension with Sachs shock absorbers.
Interior and Details
The interior of both models continues the yellow theme: perforated inserts on the seats, yellow stitching on the steering wheel, gear selector, and door panels. Black is the predominant color, complemented by modest “Yellow Limited” lettering on the doors.
Subaru BRZ Version
The Subaru BRZ STI Sport Yellow Edition also received Sunrise Yellow paint but differs with its black alloy wheels, golden calipers, and darkened emblems. Technically, this model replicates the standard STI Sport trim, which already includes Brembo brakes and a stiffer suspension.
Technical Specifications
Both cars retain the standard powertrain—a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter boxer engine producing 232 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. The drive remains rear-wheel, and buyers can choose between a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.
Limited Series and Prices
Each model is released in a limited series of 300 units exclusively for the Japanese market. Sales will be conducted through a lottery system, with prices starting from ¥3,897,000 for Toyota and ¥4,180,000 for Subaru.
These special versions not only emphasize the brands’ individuality but also demonstrate how closely their product lines are connected. Such collaborations often become collectible items, as they combine unique design with technical advantages, making them valuable for automotive culture enthusiasts.
