Attention drivers: meteorologists warn about blizzards and snowfalls

A storm warning has been issued in Ukraine: blizzards, snowfall, and strong wind gusts up to 20 m/s are expected. In this regard, drivers are asked to be extremely careful and, if possible, refrain from using private transportation, preferring public transport instead.

Pedestrians are advised to move cautiously on sidewalks and cross the road only at designated places.

According to the hydrometeorological center, on December 11, at night and in the morning, there will be fog in the northern and central regions, with visibility 200-500 m; in the second half of the day, heavy rain is expected, in the south of the country wind gusts of 15-20 m/s.

On December 12-13, worsening weather conditions are expected: on December 12 in the regions of Chernihiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Poltava, Kropyvnytskyi, and Mykolaiv, heavy snow and blizzards. Snow cover may increase to 12-20 cm; at night on December 12 in Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Dnipro regions heavy precipitation in the form of rain and wet snow; on December 13 moderate snow is expected in Ukraine (except for the eastern regions, Prykarpattia, and Transcarpathia) at night. Roads will be icy.
