Artificial intelligence recreates legendary voice from car commercials for Stellantis

Stellantis prepares special edition vehicles for the 250th anniversary of the USA

In 2026, it will be 250 years since the signing of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. To mark this occasion, Stellantis, which owns the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram brands, will become the exclusive automotive sponsor of the America250 organization. This organization was created by the U.S. Congress to coordinate the anniversary celebrations.

Interestingly, although Stellantis is based in the Netherlands, its brands are preparing special America250 vehicle series. It is particularly unusual that Chrysler models are exclusively manufactured in Canada but will receive patriotic American styling.

AI replica of deceased actor’s voice for advertising

Stellantis has also introduced a new advertising campaign using artificial intelligence. The voice of actor Kevin Yon, who passed away in 2018, was used for the “America Made Us” commercial. The company obtained permission from the actor’s family to use his voice, recreated from old recordings using AI.

The one-minute video is filled with nostalgia, showcasing classic Jeep and Willys MB models, as well as modern Stellantis-branded vehicles.

As part of the partnership with America250, Stellantis’ North American headquarters will receive special decorations by Memorial Day. The company will also provide the organization with a fleet of vehicles for events. Details about the special vehicle editions are expected to be announced in the coming months.

This initiative has sparked mixed reactions, particularly due to the use of AI to recreate the voice of a deceased person. However, it demonstrates how major automotive brands strive to associate themselves with national identity, even when their production is located outside the country.
