Kia EV6 GT Update: What’s on Offer for Buyers

Electric vehicles are evolving so rapidly that even the newest models can become outdated within just a few years. Kia was no exception and last year presented an updated version of the EV6, including the powerful GT modification. This version received some technological solutions from the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, making it even more attractive. However, for those interested in the previous version of the EV6 GT, now might be a good time to buy.

According to information from Kia dealers, a special offer is available on 2024 models – a cash incentive of $20,000. However, the condition for receiving this discount is signing a 24-month lease. For those ready to sign a 36-month contract, the discount amount decreases to $18,500. It is worth noting that neither version of the EV6 GT qualifies for the federal electric vehicle tax credit of $7,500.

What Does the New Version Offer?

The updated Kia EV6 GT received several important changes. Its battery capacity increased from 77 to 84 kWh, and the power of its two electric motors reached 641 hp. It also gained a virtual gear shift function, borrowed from the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, and a similar sound that mimics the operation of an internal combustion engine. For the new model, Kia also offers favorable lease terms: a $12,500 discount for 24 months or $10,000 for 36 months.

The pre-facelift Kia EV6 GT pumps out 576 hp from its two electric motors.

Capable of a 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds, the EV6 GT is a very compelling option.

The previous version of the EV6 GT is still powerful and fast – accelerating to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.5 seconds. However, its range is only 350 km (approx. 217 miles), which could be a significant drawback for some buyers. The special offer on the 2024 model expires on June 2nd, so those interested should hurry with their decision.

Both versions – the old and the new – have their advantages. The choice between them depends on the buyer’s priorities: more power and new features or a more advantageous price for the previous generation model. It is also worth considering that lease terms may vary depending on the region and the specific dealer.
