BMW Family Car Sets Unprecedented Record at the Nürburgring, Unmatched by Any Wagon

BMW M3 CS Touring Sets Record at the Nürburgring

In the world of high-performance cars, the BMW M3 CS Touring has proven that wagons can be not only practical but also incredibly fast. The new record on the legendary Nürburgring circuit confirms that this model combines sporting character with everyday convenience.

The previous record for wagons belonged to the Mercedes-AMG E63 S, but the M3 CS Touring surpassed it by a full 5.5 seconds. For comparison, the M3 CS sedan posted a time of 7:28.760, and the even lighter M4 CSL coupe — 7:18.137.

Technical Features of the Record Holder

The M3 CS Touring received numerous updates, including improved aerodynamics, a modified suspension, and more powerful brakes. Its 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged engine produces 543 hp, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. At the same time, the car retains practicality: the luggage compartment volume ranges from 500 to 1510 liters.

“From the very beginning, it was clear that the BMW M3 CS Touring would set new standards for dynamics. A time of less than 7:30 minutes perfectly demonstrates the combination of racing DNA with everyday convenience,” said Franciscus van Meel, CEO of BMW M GmbH.

Official video of the Nürburgring lap is already available, and it allows one to appreciate how impressive this result was. It is not yet clear if there will be a competitor capable of beating this record, but the anticipated Audi RS6 Performance could become a serious rival.

This result once again underscores that BMW M continues to push the boundaries of what is possible, even in such non-obvious segments as high-performance wagons. The engineers have managed to achieve a perfect balance between speed, handling, and practicality, making the M3 CS Touring a true legend.
