Entering the Premium Market
Geely is making a move into the high-end minivan market in China with its all-new Galaxy V900. Unveiled at a recent auto show in Guangzhou, this vehicle is Geely’s answer to the Li Auto Mega, but unlike it, uses range-extender technology rather than being fully electric.
An Unexpected Record
Although customer deliveries have not yet begun, the V900 has already managed to attract attention by securing an unexpected Guinness World Record. As part of the promotional campaign for the launch, Geely decided to test how many passengers could fit in this van, for which they invited no fewer than 42 slender dancers.

Notably, the women fit inside the minivan’s cabin quite comfortably, or at least as comfortably as possible for 42 people, earning Geely the record for the largest number of passengers placed in a vehicle of this type.
Technical Features and Model History
Of course, the V900 can boast more than just a spacious interior. This minivan was introduced by Geely back in mid-2024 and sold as the L380 through Geely-owned company LEVC. However, after a period of extremely low sales, Geely decided to relaunch it in China under the Galaxy brand, lowering the price by 80,000 yuan in the process. Next year, the L380 is planned to be sold in the UK as an electric vehicle.
The extended-range V900 is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which serves exclusively as a generator. Chinese buyers can order the minivan with a 43.3 kWh or 50 kWh battery pack, providing an electric range from 165 km to 202 km.
Dimensions and Luxury
As can be guessed from the photos, this vehicle is very large: its length is 5360 mm, width is 1998 mm, height is 1940 mm, and the wheelbase is 3200 mm. To emphasize the luxurious nature of the V900, Geely even equipped it with front and rear emblems coated in 24-karat gold.
Buyers will be able to order the V900 in six- and eight-seat configurations. Key interior details include a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel, a 15.4-inch multimedia system display, wireless phone chargers, a powerful Flyme Sound audio system, and a large storage refrigerator.
This launch reflects Geely’s strategy of diversification and strengthening its position in the domestic market, where demand for comfortable family vehicles continues to grow. The success of the V900 may largely depend on how much consumers appreciate the advantages of a hybrid powertrain compared to pure electric vehicles in the minivan segment, especially given the previous sales experience of this platform under another brand.
