The presentation of the new Skoda Scala 2019 took place in Israel. The C-class hatchback comes to replace the Skoda Rapid and will no longer be budget. The model’s competitors will be the Ford Focus, Hyundai i30, and Kia Ceed.
Buying a Skoda Scala will be possible from spring, with a starting price of around 14-15 thousand euros. It is quite possible that the model’s assembly will be established in Ukraine.
Design of Skoda Scala 2019
The new Skoda Scala is available exclusively in a hatchback body (the liftback is not offered) and is built on the modular MQB-A0 platform, like the Volkswagen Polo. The car reaches 4362 mm in length, 1793 mm in width, and 1471 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2649 mm.
The Skoda Scala 2019 looks much brighter and more interesting than its predecessor. The car has sculpted sides, a wide radiator grille, and unique arrow-shaped headlights. The optics can also be LED.
Interior and configuration of Skoda Scala 2019
The interior materials are much better than those of the Rapid. The top versions even offer a virtual dashboard and a large 9.2-inch multimedia touchscreen with voice control. The Skoda Scala has one of the largest trunks among C-class hatchbacks: its volume is 467 liters in a normal state and 1410 liters with the rear seats folded.
Various useful small features are also provided in the cabin, such as folding tables in the backrests of front seats, a compartment for an umbrella in the door, and niches for keys and coins. The list of options is surprisingly rich: dual-zone climate control, adaptive cruise control, power tailgate with hands-free function, Wi-Fi, adaptive cruise control, parking autopilot, lane control systems, and preventive braking.
Specifications of Skoda Scala 2019
The new Skoda Scala features gasoline turbo engines of 1.0 L (90-115 hp) and 1.5 L (150 hp), as well as a 1.6-liter 115-hp turbodiesel. Manual transmissions or a DSG robot with two clutches are available.
Buyers will also be able to choose a sports suspension with a reduced ground clearance of 15 mm. In this case, 18-inch alloy wheels are available. Andrey Ivanenko
