Former VAZ designer Vladimir Yartsev believes that the classic style will soon become popular again. Yartsev compared the design of modern cars to plastic cosmetology — according to the creator of the “ten”, this trend will soon pass, just as the trend for “pumped lips and buttocks” did. At the same time, he called the design of the new “Niva” or UAZ Patriot “understandable and not ugly”.
Furthermore, Yartsev noted the impact of the coronavirus on public tastes. In his opinion, due to the pandemic and its accompanying difficulties and losses, people have matured and become less receptive to anything grotesque and loud. Instead, Yartsev added, society is returning to its roots, namely, the classic design of the past century.
