Bold theft of half-million dollar Rolls Royce from parking lot leads to large-scale crime solving

Uncovering large-scale luxury car theft in Texas

Police in Plano, Texas, have detained a group of criminals who, according to preliminary data, stole luxury cars totaling over $1.5 million. Among the seized vehicles are Rolls-Royce, Audi, Maserati, and other premium models. The events were recorded by surveillance cameras, which captured the moment of detention.

The case began with the theft of a 2024 Rolls-Royce Spectre worth almost $500 thousand. The perpetrator managed to steal the keys from the valet station of a restaurant and escape in the car. This case attracted the attention of law enforcement officers, who established a connection with other thefts. With the support of the FBI, police conducted searches in two residences where they found five luxury cars.

“It was a combination of quality investigative work, interagency cooperation, and a fortunate coincidence,” stated Plano police representative Jerry Minton.

During the operation, three men were detained: Miguel Hernandez, Salvador Hernandez, and Oscar Valdez Garcia. The latter, according to investigation data, had 15 outstanding charges. An investigation is currently ongoing regarding the further fate of the stolen cars, which will likely be returned to their legal owners.

Footage from surveillance cameras shows that the detention occurred according to a clear plan, resembling a special operation. Although the criminals’ motives remain unclear, the scale of the thefts indicates an established scheme. Police emphasize the importance of additional security measures for owners of expensive cars, especially when using valet services or public parking lots.
