Exclusive Porsche 911 Carrera T “Formosa”
Prestigious automotive brands are increasingly focusing on individual customization, and the Porsche Sonderwunsch program is no exception. To showcase the capabilities of this special orders department, the company has unveiled the unique Formosa car, created in honor of Taiwan’s landscapes. This special Carrera T, named after the historical name of the island meaning “Beautiful Island,” combines stunning aesthetics with the pure sporting essence of the model.
The key features of this special edition are:
Nature-Inspired Design
The body color is unique and named Ipanema Blue Metallic, meant to be associated with the Pacific Ocean waters surrounding the island. Accents in Suzuka Grey Metallic on the rear lettering, side window trim, and engine cover slats reflect the rocky formations of the eastern coast. RS Spyder wheels in Suzuka Grey Metallic with Vanadium Grey rims complement the palette, while black HD-Matrix LED headlights and signature rear lights give a restrained yet sporty appearance.
Luxury and Interior Details
Inside the car, the story continues: Paldao wood trim symbolizes Taiwan’s dense mountains. The sports seats are upholstered in two-tone Truffle Brown and Black leather with Night Green stitching. The centerpiece is a newly developed “Formosa” tartan pattern in Night Green, Black, and Cream White.
This pattern adorns the seat inserts and the fully leather-lined front trunk, where the inscription “Formosa” is also embroidered.
The illuminated door sills bear the inscription “Formosa x Sonderwunsch,” and the seat headrests feature an embossed silhouette of the 911 Carrera T intertwined with wave and mountain motifs. The company emphasizes that all these modifications do not affect the car’s performance in any way.
The Sports Car’s Heart
This Carrera T retains all the mechanical features that make it special: a manual transmission, a sport-tuned suspension, and, of course, the 3.0-liter flat-six engine producing 388 hp (289 kW) with 331 lb-ft (421 Nm) of torque.
The Sonderwunsch program allows for the realization of clients’ boldest wishes, and this applies not only to new cars. Recently, for example, a rare 2009 Cayenne GTS with its V8 engine and manual transmission was revived. This once again proves that Porsche is ready to bring even the most unusual automotive dreams of its customers to life, combining high technology with the art of individual design. Creating such unique specimens as the Formosa not only pushes the boundaries of automotive design but also serves as a powerful branding tool, demonstrating the depth of cultural exploration and craftsmanship available to clients.
