Mazda Presents the Sporty EZ-6 Version for the Chinese Market
Mazda, in collaboration with the Chinese company Changan, has introduced a sporty version of the EZ-6 sedan, which will be released exclusively for the Chinese market. The new modification features:
The sporty version is available both as a fully electric variant and as a hybrid with an extended range. Prices start at ¥161,800 (approximately $22,500) for the base trim.
Technical Features and Market Prospects
The sporty EZ-6 version differs from the standard model with its black 19-inch wheels, red brake calipers, and red interior ambient lighting. The car is also equipped with:
- a 14.6-inch touchscreen,
- a 50-inch head-up display,
- a 14-speaker Sony audio system.
So far, Mazda has not confirmed plans to release this version for the European market. However, given that the development was carried out in collaboration with Mazda Europe, the possibility of a similar modification for Europe remains likely. Currently, European versions of the 6e are only available with an electric powertrain, while hybrid options are offered in China.
The EZ-6 Sport Edition was presented at the Shanghai Auto Show, but details regarding additional technical improvements remain unknown. It is likely that these are only visual and interior changes, rather than a serious under-the-hood upgrade.
