A True Mitsubishi Ralliart Off-Roader May Arrive Sooner Than Expected

Mitsubishi is Considering Developing a More Powerful Version of the Outlander

Mitsubishi continues to explore the idea of creating a sporty version of the Outlander under the Ralliart brand. Company executives have confirmed that active development is underway, but the final decision may depend on the market. The production model might be influenced by the Vision Ralliart concept presented in 2022, which was inspired by rally racing.

Kentaro Honda, Chief Engineer at Mitsubishi, stated:

“We are still studying this possibility. We participated in the Asia Cross-Country Rally, so based on that experience, we are considering how and when to develop the Ralliart version”

. At the same time, Shaun Westcott, CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Australia, emphasized that the company does not want to be limited to just visual changes but aims for real technical improvements.

What Could the Outlander Ralliart Get?

The new version could receive a more powerful hybrid powertrain, improved suspension, a more effective braking system, and a more aggressive design. Although the production model is unlikely to be as radical as the concept, it could become a competitor for the Toyota RAV4 GR-Sport and other sporty crossovers.

The current Outlander has already received an updated hybrid version with 302 hp, but the Ralliart version could raise the bar even higher. The company emphasizes the integration of technologies from rally racing, which could make this model interesting not only for brand enthusiasts but also for sports car lovers.

Despite the fact that a final decision has not yet been made, interest in the potential Outlander Ralliart remains high. This is especially true for markets where customers expect not just stylish stickers, but real technical innovations. If Mitsubishi manages to find a balance between the practicality of a family crossover and the dynamics of a sports car, it could be a serious step towards the revival of the Ralliart brand.
