An old LuAZ turned into an electric SUV for the Armed Forces (video) en

LuAZ-969 “Volyn” was transformed into an electric vehicle with a motor from Jaguar. The video of the unusual car was published by the publication “Kharkiv News”. According to the developers, their goal was to create a silent vehicle for reconnaissance, which allows for the inconspicuous execution of combat missions.

Why exactly LuAZ – is not hard to guess. The 1972 LuAZ-969 was chosen because it is known for its good off-road capability. Instead of a gasoline engine under the “LuAZ” hood, there is now a Jaguar electric motor. It was likely borrowed from the i-Pace crossover, as this is currently the only electric model of the British brand.

A small battery provides a range of approximately 200 km. This is quite sufficient for performing combat tasks, writes Focus.
