A 1964 Volkswagen Beetle is up for sale in Portland, USA. It might seem like nothing special, but the price of the Volkswagen Beetle is impressive – one million dollars.
The car had no known owners, it wasn’t subjected to any crazy tuning, and it’s not exactly a rare model either – 21.5 million first-generation Volkswagen Beetles were produced.
The fact is, the car is practically new, with only 35 km on the odometer. The Beetle was kept in a special enclosed space and wasn’t driven at all from 1966 to 2016. Therefore, the original paint and interior finish are perfectly preserved.
Moreover, the rearview mirrors, wipers, and wheel caps are still packed and have never been installed. Although, in our opinion, this doesn’t justify the price tag equivalent to a hypercar.
