The Lanzante workshop is known for its restoration of rare cars and bold tuning projects. They are the ones who created the extreme McLaren P1 LM, and now have decided to make an even more stunning car.
At Lanzante, they are tuning the first-generation Porsche 911 Turbo in the 930 body. The cars are planned to be equipped with 1000-horsepower turbo engines from Formula-1 cars.
Interestingly, Porsche TAG engines, which were installed on McLaren cars in the 80s, have been chosen for the swap. These 1.5-liter turbocharged V6 engines helped Alain Prost and Niki Lauda win 26 Grand Prix races. The tuners were inspired by a one-of-a-kind Porsche 930 prototype with a TAG engine built 30 years ago.
Of course, the engines will be seriously refined to increase their durability and adapt them for everyday use. Yet, these Porsche 911 Turbos will still be truly insane, as they lack ESP and traction control, and the rear-engine layout is very treacherous.
In total, they plan to convert 11 Porsche 911 Turbos in this way. They can be recognized by the RuF-style body kit.
