Stellantis significantly improves car subscription terms

Stellantis improves subscription terms for customers in the USA

Car subscriptions often cause dissatisfaction as companies hide modern features behind an additional fee. If you want to use autopilot or remote access, you have to pay. However, Stellantis has decided to ease the situation a bit.

The company has added the remote engine start and stop function to its Connect One plan, which now comes standard on all 2027 models for ten years. This free plan also includes remote door lock/unlock, vehicle health reports, and emergency calls. Additionally, it offers “basic navigation,” over-the-air updates, and support for digital key technology on select models.

Price reductions on additional services

This is not the only change. The cost of the additional Connect Wi-Fi Plus plan has been reduced from $17.99 to $15.99 per month, an 11% saving. This plan provides unlimited Wi-Fi, as well as stolen vehicle assistance, theft attempt alerts, and a vehicle locator feature. Also available is more advanced navigation with searches for gas stations, parking lots, and speed camera warnings.

Some models have separate terms. For example, the 2027 Jeep Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer S receive ten years of Connect One and three years of Connect Plus at no extra charge. The situation is similar for 2027 Alfa Romeo vehicles, while older Dodge Durango and Jeep Compass models remain on the SiriusXM Guardian platform.

New offers from SiriusXM

Stellantis has also partnered with SiriusXM to launch several new options. A key one is the ability to order a 2027 model with a three-year SiriusXM Extended Service subscription, the cost of which is already included in the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price. The companies promise a “significant discount,” but the exact amount of savings has not yet been disclosed.

If you initially decline this plan, you can subscribe to FlexCare Sounds Powered by SiriusXM within 75 days. This option allows new owners to easily add a three-year SiriusXM Extended Service subscription through the dealer’s finance department. However, it is possible that customers may have to pay slightly more.

Overall, these changes indicate that Stellantis is trying to make its subscriptions more attractive to buyers, especially amid growing competition in the market. Although the company has no intention of completely abandoning paid services, such steps could improve brand perception among customers who are tired of constant surcharges for basic features. Including long free periods for key options, such as remote start, could become a compelling argument when choosing a car.
