Stellantis Revives the SRT Brand with a Promise of Incredible Power

Stellantis Revives SRT for Performance Car Enthusiasts

Stellantis has announced the revival of its high-performance division SRT (Street and Racing Technologies) to win back the trust of car enthusiasts. Previously, the brand lost part of its audience after phasing out Hemi V8 engines and attempts to present electric vehicles as true muscle cars. Now the situation is set to change.

The SRT division existed for over 20 years, creating legends such as the Neon SRT-4 and SRT Viper, but it was closed in 2021. Currently, the only model with the SRT logo is the Durango with the Hellcat engine, but the lineup is expected to expand soon.

New Leadership and Plans

The revived SRT will be led by Tim Kuniskis, the former head of Dodge, who previously created the Challenger SRT Demon 170. He also remains the CEO of Ram and will be responsible for Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep. In his statement, Kuniskis noted:

We are getting the band back together. SRT is the next critical part of our strategy, and we are preparing products with incredible performance. We are selecting the best engineers to create technology worthy of the SRT name.

The updated division will also take control of the Direct Connection tuning program and all racing activities of Stellantis brands in North America, including a return to NHRA drag racing.

It is not yet known exactly which models will be released under the SRT brand, but fans are already being invited to share their wishes. Perhaps we will see new versions of classic cars or completely unexpected projects. One thing is obvious — Stellantis is betting on emotions and power, trying to regain its leadership in the world of sports cars.
