Stellantis Turns to a German Tuner for Its Chinese Electric Vehicles

Deepening of Stellantis Cooperation with German Tuner

The Stellantis group continues its unique strategy for competing in the electric vehicle market. Instead of directly competing with Chinese manufacturers, the company has invested in the Leapmotor brand and is responsible for its promotion in Western markets. Now Stellantis is also strengthening its partnership with the German tuning company Irmscher, indicating a bet on external experts instead of creating its own division for developing sporty versions, as competitors do.

Limited Edition Leapmotor B10 Dynamic

The new result of the Leapmotor and Irmscher collaboration is the B10 crossover, which occupies a position below the larger C10 model. The modification has been named the B10 Dynamic, and its production will be limited to just 500 units. The car has undergone a number of refinements that make it more expressive.

One of the key changes was the suspension: the car was lowered by 30 mm, likely due to the installation of lowering springs. New 19-inch wheels were also installed, which perfectly fill the wheel arches. According to Irmscher representatives, the chassis modifications improved the driving feel and reduced body roll, which positively impacted handling.

Exterior and Interior

The sporty character of the model is emphasized by black graphic elements on the doors and rear fenders, as well as black mirrors, bumpers, side skirts, and wheels. This styling may seem too aggressive for some, but will be just right for others. Although Stellantis has only shown the exterior, it is known that the interior has also been updated: it features embroidery and decorative stitching from Irmscher, as well as an aluminum plaque confirming the unit number in the limited series.

Technical Specifications and Price

The B10 Dynamic is based on the B10 Pro Max version. It is equipped with a 67.1 kWh battery and a 218 hp electric motor on the rear axle. The tuners did not interfere with the powertrain, so these figures remain unchanged. The price for the limited edition is 38,500 euros, which is a fairly high figure for this segment.

This project demonstrates how global alliances in the automotive industry are taking new forms. The collaboration between a European conglomerate, a Chinese EV manufacturer, and a German tuner is an attempt to create a unique product that combines an affordable technological base with a European sense of style and finish. In a manner of speaking, it is a way to add emotion and individuality to a mass-market electric vehicle, which could be the key to attracting a certain category of buyers looking for something different from standard offerings. The success of such a strategy will depend on whether the market sees sufficient value in limited editions and modifications that do not touch the basic technical characteristics.
