Hundred-Foot Ferrari Glides on Water Without Using Fuel

Ferrari Introduces the Revolutionary Hypersail Yacht

Ferrari is stepping beyond the automotive world by introducing its first sailing yacht project. Hypersail is not just a fast boat but an innovative design that “flies” above the water thanks to special lifting surfaces (foils). It is being developed entirely in-house, without third-party licenses, and is already preparing for sea trials.

The project is led by Giovanni Soldini, and the design was created by renowned naval architect Guillaume Verdier. The yacht uses a movable keel, which, together with two other contact points, ensures stability on the water. Control is managed by systems developed based on Ferrari’s aerodynamic technologies.

“The meeting of different cultures and cutting-edge technologies allows us to create a yacht that will be a revolution in many aspects,” Soldini noted.

Technologies of the Future

Hypersail gets its energy from solar panels, wind, and kinetic systems, without any internal combustion engine. Ferrari has already registered 9 patents related to this project and is preparing six more. Company Chairman John Elkann emphasized that this yacht is a new challenge for the brand, combining innovation with endurance traditions inspired by victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

This project could mark the beginning of a new era in shipbuilding, where speed and environmental friendliness go hand in hand. Ferrari proves that its technologies can work not only on land but also on water, opening the door for further experiments in the marine industry.
