President Volodymyr Zelensky today launched the mobile application “Diia” under the program “Country in a Smartphone”. It offers Ukrainians a range of interesting electronic services.
The application contains pleasant innovations for motorists as well. In particular, electronic driver’s licenses and vehicle registration certificates have already been implemented. According to the Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine became the fourth country in Europe and the tenth in the world where vehicle registration certificates and driver’s licenses are available on a smartphone.
Electronic documents have the same legal force as regular ones. That is, driver’s licenses and vehicle registration certificates can be uploaded to the application and shown to police officers from the smartphone. And over time, it will be possible to upload an electronic auto insurance policy to the “Diia” application as well. The authorities plan to increase the number of application users to 10 million people by the end of 2020. One can register through Bank ID or through applications from PrivatBank and Monobank.
