Fresh Visual Updates for the Suzuki Jimny from a Japanese Tuner
Japanese tuning atelier Cal’s Motors has introduced a new body kit for the five-door version of the Suzuki Jimny, known as the Nomade in Japan. This kit gives the compact SUV a retro style inspired by classic American SUVs.
Details of the Updated Design
The new chrome radiator grille with rectangular LED headlights is particularly eye-catching. The front-end design is reminiscent of the Chevrolet K5 Blazer, and the rear has received round lights instead of the standard ones. Additionally, upgraded seats with leatherette upholstery, a 7-inch multimedia screen, and a digital rearview mirror are offered.
“This kit transforms the Jimny into a true retro off-roader while maintaining its practicality”
The technical specifications remain unchanged: a 1.5-liter engine producing 103 hp with a choice of manual or automatic transmission. However, a lift kit is available to increase ground clearance, improving both appearance and off-road capability.
The fully modified Jimny Beas+ L starts from ¥3,740,000 (approximately $25,200), which is significantly more expensive than the base version. Demand for the Jimny in Japan still exceeds supply, so the waiting time for modified versions can be long. For those who prefer more compact models, a similar tuning package is available for the three-door version.
This project demonstrates how modern technology can be combined with retro aesthetics to create a unique product. The Suzuki Jimny continues to be one of the most tuner-friendly models, as evidenced by the constant stream of new concepts from various ateliers around the world.
