The presentation of the electric vehicle took place online. Essentially, it is Subaru’s first serial and mass-produced electric vehicle (and also a crossover) that will go into production. The name is formed from two Latin words: sol (sun) and terra (earth).
Those in the know might get the impression that the Subaru Solterra looks very similar to the Toyota bZ4X electric crossover. And it does – these cars share a common platform, the e-TNGA. However, externally the cars differ slightly, although the differences are minimal otherwise.
Two versions are provided for Solterra: with one or two electric motors. The power ranges from 204 (front-wheel drive) to 218 hp (all-wheel drive). The reported acceleration is 8.4 seconds for 2WD and 7.7 seconds for 4WD. The range is 500 km for front-wheel drive and 460 km for 4×4.
You will be able to purchase the Subaru Solterra in spring-summer 2022, but there is no information yet on what the price will be or whether the electric Subaru will be available in Ukraine.
