Updated Design and Standard Equipment
Subaru introduced the updated Solterra earlier this year. Despite the range increasing by more than 25%, the starting price has remained unchanged.
The base Premium trim features a restrained, subtle front-end design with new LED lighting and an illuminated logo. Standard equipment includes rain sensors, a power liftgate, and updated 18-inch alloy wheels.
The interior is devoid of strange design solutions and is now equipped with a separate 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a completely new 14-inch multimedia system. These are complemented by a new dashboard and an updated center console with a 15-watt wireless smartphone charger.
Additionally, leather-wrapped steering wheel trim and heated front seats with eco-friendly StarTex synthetic leather are provided, with a 10-way power driver’s seat adjustment. The crossover also features ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror with Homelink function.
Safety Systems and Technical Updates
The model is equipped with adaptive cruise control, a low-speed hands-free driving system, and an emergency steering assist. Also present are front cross-traffic alert, pre-collision braking, lane departure warning, emergency stop assist, blind-spot monitoring, and a collision avoidance system with automatic steering.
The vehicle received a new 74.7 kWh battery, which provides a range of up to 288 miles. It works in tandem with an updated all-wheel-drive system with two motors producing 233 hp. Among other important updates are improved built-in 11 kW charging and a new NACS standard charging port.
More Accessible and Powerful Trims
The Limited trim now costs $41,395, which is $600 cheaper than last year’s model. It features larger 20-inch wheels, power-folding side mirrors with turn signals, as well as two rear spoilers and a touch-sensitive power liftgate.
Updates have touched the interior, where a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats have appeared. A Harman Kardon audio system, a power passenger seat, a rear 120V outlet, parking assist, and a panoramic camera are also installed.
The powertrain remains the same, but the range decreases to 278 miles. However, for $42,895, you can get the Limited XT version, which is equipped with a more powerful 338 hp all-wheel-drive system. This allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than five seconds, while the range remains at 278 miles.
Flagship Version and Purchase Conditions
The top-tier Touring XT trim starts from $45,555 and is focused on luxury. It features front seats with heating, ventilation, and a leg warmer option, a digital rearview mirror, a panoramic sunroof, footwell lighting, and a retractable cargo cover.
Deliveries of the 2026 Solterra to dealerships will begin in the fall. Customers who purchase or lease this electric vehicle will get access to renting another Subaru vehicle for up to 10 days. This means that for long trips, you can leave the electric car at home and not worry about charging.

Maintaining the price level while significantly increasing the range makes the updated Solterra a more attractive offer on the market, especially for brand enthusiasts looking for an eco-friendly alternative. However, the loss of the tax credit in the US may somewhat diminish this advantage for the end consumer. The appearance of the more powerful XT version expands the target audience, offering not only efficiency but also dynamics, which could become a decisive argument in the competitive battle with other electric crossovers.
