If the idea of a Plymouth Barracuda with the characteristics and handling of a modern muscle car sounds like a dream to you, then this creation may be your ideal choice. This is the latest Dodge Hellcat, transformed into the image of a 1971 Cuda, and it’s set to go to the Mecum auction in Indianapolis this May.
The work started with a 2022 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, but the similarity ends there. The entire body was redesigned to replicate the aggressive, nostalgic lines of the classic third-generation Barracuda from the early 1970s, which itself shared a platform with the Challenger of the time.

The body is made of carbon fiber prepreg, with a computer-controlled machine-created grille at the front. Dual round LED headlights at the front are borrowed from the Challenger, but the rear lights have been converted to look as much like those from ’71 Cuda as possible.
The car is painted in a custom shade of metallic pink, with clear carbon accents on the hood and rear fenders. It rides on black three-piece alloy wheels, with pink brake calipers for a vibrant color accent.

Inside, pink stitches and accents in the cabin match the exterior color, creating a playful contrast with the black leather upholstery. Carbon accents, starry velvet cover, and Alcantara inserts on the lower part of the dashboard, center console, and door cards complement the sporty mood of the interior.
Continuation:
Under the hood, the power of this muscle car remains unchanged. The car retains a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that develops 707 hp (527 kW / 717 PS) in the standard version. Though there are no significant performance enhancements here, a custom exhaust with dual center exhaust pipes is installed. The odometer shows only 55 miles (89 km)—it’s practically a new car.

According to reports, more than 3,000 man-hours went into the transformation, and this car is the fourth of 10 units created. Although Mecum does not name the builder, the Cuda appears to be the creation of Six Twelve Auto Worx.
This unique muscle car failed to sell at the Mecum Kissimmee 2025 auction in January, despite a highest bid of $275,000. Now the seller hopes for a better outcome at the Mecum auction in Indianapolis in May. By the way, a car by the same builder sold for $310,000 at the Mecum Kissimmee 2024 auction, but it was based on the Hellcat Redeye, not the standard Hellcat.
Besides the Cuda by Six Twelve Auto Worx, also transforms the Challenger into a Cuda externally, using different body equipment. One of their creations sold for $160,000 at the Mecum Indy 2024 auction.
