BMW Speedtop Concept: new design ahead of the premiere
Before the official presentation of the BMW Speedtop concept at Villa d’Este in Italy, its images appeared online. This is a coupe-shooting brake, developed based on last year’s Skytop but with a more elongated roof and other design solutions. Although the interior remains almost unchanged, the new model looks more stylish and harmonious.
The concept will be presented at the Concours d’Eleganza Villa d’Este near Lake Como. As expected, the car’s photos leaked online in advance. The Speedtop’s design resembles classic “shooting brakes” but with modern BMW elements.
Fan renders by Sugar Design, published shortly before the official images leaked, turned out to be very accurate – the artist correctly predicted the body shape and details.
Technical features and the model’s future
If BMW decides to put the Speedtop into series production, it will likely receive the same platform as the M8 Competition, with a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 617 hp. This will provide the car with excellent dynamics, matching its exclusive design.
Although some fans suggest the idea of a four-door version, it is more likely that the company will stick to a two-door variant. The original Skytop will be limited to just 50 units, so a similar approach is possible for the Speedtop.
It remains unclear whether BMW will confirm the series production of this model, but the success of the Skytop and the significant interest in the Speedtop speak in favor of such a decision. The official presentation is expected in the coming days, and all details will then be revealed.
