Now That the Model Has Been Discontinued, the Hornet Can Be Purchased for Almost Half the Price

The End of the Dodge Hornet Era

The Dodge Hornet model, which entered the market with Italian charm in its design and decent performance, never gained popularity among buyers. Now that the car’s production has been discontinued, dealers are trying to quickly sell off the remaining inventory, offering deep discounts that sometimes reach almost half of the original price.

The key points of the situation are:

Attractive Offers on New Cars

For those still considering buying a new Hornet, very attractive offers have appeared on the market. Dealers are motivated by having 2024 model year cars at the beginning of 2026, so they are willing to negotiate significantly.

As an example, they cite a new all-wheel-drive Hornet GT in Florida, whose price has dropped from $34,920 to $19,748, which is a 43.4% discount. This is an offer without additional conditions or special programs. Cars with low mileage can be found for even less than $18,000.

Importantly, new cars, like this one with a suggested price of $43,025 being sold for $24,750, still come with a full factory warranty. For such a price, this is significantly more than one might expect from basic competitor crossovers.

The R/T Hybrid Version: Is It Worth Considering?

For fans of plug-in hybrids, there are also profitable offers. For example, a 2024 Hornet R/T in Connecticut with 13,300 miles on it, originally priced at $46,615, is now valued at $22,452.

Considering all available incentives for qualified buyers, the price could drop to $19,452 before taxes and fees. This is a total savings of 58.3%.

This car was part of the dealer’s service fleet, so it has mileage, but according to the seller, it is still covered by the factory warranty. For buyers looking for a car in the $20,000–$25,000 range, this could be a very smart choice.

The Hornet R/T has all-wheel drive, over 30 miles of electric-only range, 288 horsepower, and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds. Even the less powerful GT version received positive reviews for its handling and overall driving experience.

Time to Buy?

High prices were probably the main reason for the Hornet’s low sales. Now that the model is finally leaving the American market, it’s the perfect time to buy it at a significantly lower price.

Such discounts are not a unique case for just one dealer, making the situation even more advantageous for the end consumer. Market offers show that dealers are really trying to clear their warehouses, and this process is likely to continue, potentially making deals even more attractive in the coming weeks. This situation may also affect the used market for this model, lowering prices there as well, which opens up additional opportunities for buyers looking for a car with character for affordable money.
