Now you can bet on robotaxi from Zoox

Launch of Zoox’s robotaxi in Las Vegas

The Amazon-owned company Zoox has officially launched its robotaxi service in Las Vegas. This comes after months of testing, and now users can order a free ride through the Zoox app, allowing them to conveniently travel along and near the Las Vegas Strip.

Limited routes and free start

The service is currently limited to several predefined destinations, not arbitrary locations. These include Resorts World Las Vegas, AREA15, Topgolf, and other entertainment venues, focusing on high-traffic areas. Free rides are available for now to generate interest, but the company plans to introduce fees later.

Organization and safety

Resorts World Las Vegas and AREA15 have created special zones for pick-up and drop-off, and a Zoox concierge is on hand to help users with the app and answer questions. The app displays the robotaxi’s license plate, estimated time of arrival, provides real-time updates, and offers trip summaries with the option to leave feedback.

Las Vegas is a city known for unforgettable moments, and it is the perfect place for our debut. Zoox aims to transform the entire transportation experience, making every ride enjoyable.

Zoox states that it has become the first to offer a fully autonomous ride-hailing service in a purpose-built robotaxi. For user safety, in-app assistance is available in case of problems, and inside the vehicle, there is a dedicated support button on the display.

Autonomous driving technology is still not flawless, so the company is actively collecting feedback to improve the service before scaling up. This step could be an important milestone in the development of autonomous transportation, especially in cities with heavy traffic, where convenience and safety remain key aspects for widespread adoption.
