Tesla has announced a recall of five Model Y vehicles in the United States due to a fault in the horn’s ground wire. The specified vehicles were manufactured between March 27 and July 10, 2025. To date, the company has received two warranty claims related to this issue. Although this case does not pose a serious safety threat, it could lead to horn failure. Unlike other issues that Tesla has resolved with software updates, this one requires physical intervention at a service center. As reported, supplier Yanfeng International may have improperly secured the wire’s ring terminal, leading to a loss of contact. “Tesla plans to notify the owners of the affected vehicles closer to September 23. Technicians will check the condition of the wire and, if necessary, repair it free of charge” The problem was discovered on July 9 when company employees noticed that the horn on one of the vehicles only worked intermittently. This prompted an investigation and the subsequent recall. Fortunately, no accidents or injuries related to this malfunction have been reported so far. Although the scale of the recall is minimal, this case once again highlights the importance of manufacturing quality in large automotive companies. Tesla, like other manufacturers, continues to face similar technical problems that require prompt response to ensure customer safety.
