Tesla calls it the last perfect car for drivers. Others consider it simply lost

Tesla Roadster: “The Last Best Driver’s Car”

The second Tesla Roadster, unveiled back in 2017, has still not entered serial production. Despite this, the company continues to accept deposits of $50,000, although the exact price and delivery timelines remain unknown.

Lars Moravy, head of Tesla’s vehicle engineering department, stated that the new Roadster will be the “last best driver’s car”. He also mentioned that the team showed Elon Musk some technological demonstrations that greatly surprised him.

“We spent a lot of time rethinking our solutions. We are making it better and better, and it’s even a bit more than just a car”

Ambitious Claims and Reality

Back in 2018, Musk promised that the Roadster would receive a SpaceX option with rocket thrusters that would improve acceleration, braking, and handling. In 2024, he even claimed that the new Roadster would be able to fly. However, no evidence of these technologies has been presented so far.

Despite all these claims, Tesla continues to collect pre-orders for a car that still has no clear release date. This raises questions about the reality of such ambitious projects under the company’s current conditions. Some experts believe that such statements may be attempts to maintain interest in the brand and its stock.
