Tesla suddenly urges purchases after years of criticizing government subsidies for electric vehicles

US Electric Vehicle Tax Incentive Ending Soon

Until the end of September, a tax incentive of up to $7,500 is available for buyers of new electric vehicles in the USA. After September 30th, this opportunity will disappear, which is why manufacturers like Tesla and Ford are actively urging customers to take advantage of the benefit.

Tesla has placed a banner on the homepage of its website with a warning: “The $7,500 Tax Incentive is Ending”. The company is also sending out emails reminding about the limited time to receive the discount. Currently, the Model 3 can be purchased for $34,990 including the incentive, but from October the price will increase to $42,490.

“There has never been a better time to buy an electric vehicle than now,” stated a Ford representative.

Special Offers from Ford

Ford is also stimulating sales by offering a free home charging station and installation until the end of September. Furthermore, the company has launched a “0-0-0” promotion: zero down payment, zero payments for 90 days, and zero percent interest for 48 months on certain models.

Including the incentive, the price of the Model Y is $37,490, and without it — $44,990. Even the Cybertruck falls under the program, reducing its starting price to $69,990. However, after October, prices may increase significantly if manufacturers do not introduce new discounts.

The offers seem advantageous, but it’s worth considering that automakers might simply be trying to boost sales before the incentive is canceled. For those planning to buy an electric vehicle, it really is worth accelerating the decision to manage to save.
